I spent my 19 year career exclusively in the mortgage finance industry beginning at a major bank managing their foreclosure property portfolio. This led to 10 years of managing mortgage credit risk at Freddie Mac, the nation's second largest mortgage securitization company. After stints at software companies focused on mortgage automation, being the founder of one company, I opened this residential mortgage brokerage specializing in assisting individual homeowners and real estate investors to effectively use mortgage debt to build their wealth. My real estate investment group works closely with California-based investors seeking cash flowing properties out-of-state. I am also an officer in Home Rescue Corporation, a Realtor training and loan workout company focused on helping people experiencing default. As a Chartered Financial Analyst andCertified Mortgage Banker, I bring unique technical skills to bear in support my clients’ needs.
My goal is “excellence in performance.” Because American Pacific Mortgage does not advertise its services, we rely entirely on our clients, friends and partners to refer people they know and like, and who can benefit from our services. My business depends on giving clients a superb level of service before, during and after each transaction. I guarantee my client satisfaction.

"Jay is an excellent, experienced mortgage broker who provides honest, realistic options based on each client's needs and goals. He is the first person I call when I have questions about the mortgage industry. I highly recommend working with Jay!"

“I recommended Jay without hesitation to my friends looking to purchase their first home. After the transaction which closed early my friends told me that Jay "was a blessing". They enjoyed working with him and Jay took good care of them. It was important to my friends to work with someone in the business for a long time as this was the most important purchase they have ever made and he hand held them through everything. Thanks for taking good care of Jim and Nicky Jay. Of course I would refer to anyone they needs your services."
- Nancy L.
" I want to thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for all your hard work. You were fabulous!"
“My wife and I were referred to Jay by close friends of ours when we bought our new home in 2005. Jay has an excellent understanding of the mechanics of the mortgage industry in addition to the wide range of products available. I would highly recommend Jay to assist with any new purchase or refinance you may be considering.”

"I work regularly with Jay Briggs and you may have met him at a party or two at my house. He’s one of the most patient and thorough brokers I’ve worked with and he spends an incredible amount of time working with people in person to educate them on buying/financing options and follows up when it may be time to refinance. He’s worked with me both personally and professionally. We’ve worked together with about 6 home purchases, mostly first time home buyers. He has also helped out when clients have had bad mortgage brokers and he can correct problems and does so without sometimes even after they have purchases or were going to work with someone else as he’s more accurate, honest and informed. He works by referral as I do and has a wonderful helpful approach to business. I think he would be a great resource for you as well."
- Marianne C.
"I was very, very pleased with your efforts to speed up the lending process. I always appreciate it when people respond quickly to inquiries and requests, and are “on the ball”. Also, I felt you went the extra mile by helping me get all my lender paperwork in order. And I am very grateful for that. I would definitely work with you again in the future."
Thank you so much for all your help. I can honestly say that we would not have got a house without you. You were accurate, encouraging and fun to work with. Thanks so much for the gift box, how did you know we loved hot stuff. Jim got into the chips and salsa last night in one of his late night snack attacks and I really enjoyed the nuts. We look forward to working with you in the future for refinancing and purchasing of other properties.
